Q: What IS Pilates?
A: Pilates is a form of movement developed by Joseph H. Pilates more than 70 years ago. It is designed to increase flexibility, strengthen, and lengthen muscles by using Pilates principles: Concentration, Control, Centering, Precision, and Breath. I would like to add one more: Commitment! Joe Pilates is quoted in saying “You will feel better in 10 sessions, look better in 20 sessions, and have a completely new body in 30 sessions.”
Q: How many times a week should you practice pilates?
A: As often as you can! Ideally 3 to 4 times a week.
