About Christine

Christine found Pilates unexpectedly in 2000 while attending the College of Charleston. As a runner and a swimmer in high school, she carried her love of high intensity workouts with her to college. And as any respectable college student does, she also worked a restaurant job. It wasn’t long before her love of pounding the pavement and hours on her feet caused her body to ache. Something had to give — preferably not her knees. One day, Christine discovered a Pilates video and added it to her fitness regimen. After consistently practicing Pilates with the video, she felt and looked better. Christine was hooked. For the next several years, she continued to use the videos off and on; when the time came for a major career change, she decided to learn more about Pilates and explore the possibility of teaching.

Christine began a Traditional Authentic Pilates apprenticeship in 2008 at The Pilates Loft Newnan under the tutelage of Sabrina Vaz and Mary Ann Briggs. She fell in love with teaching the method and found that the more she learned, the more she wanted to learn. In the spring of 2010, with nearly 800 hrs of training under her belt, she finished her apprenticeship. Christine is experienced in teaching beginner, intermediate and advanced mat work as well as all Pilates apparatuses. She knows how a movement works and why it makes your body work more efficiently.

Christine practiced Pilates throughout the pregnancy and after the birth of her first child in 2009. She found that Pilates helped her body tremendously to adapt, support and facilitate the work of carrying and birthing her child. This revelation motivated Christine to empower other women through Pilates during their pregnancies. In the fall of 2010, she took a pre- and post-natal course taught by the founder herself, Carolyn Anthony. Practicing Pilates before and after pregnancy helped prepare her for her first half marathon which she ran in 2010.

Christine now teaches in Peachtree City, GA at ProHealth Physical Therapy and Pilates Studio. Under the mentor-ship of Karyn Staples, PT, PhD, OCS, she has begun Polestar Pilates Advanced Teacher Training. She teaches two specialty classes: a pre/post natal Pilates class and a Pilates for Building Better Bones (Pilates for Osteoporosis), as well as teaches private clients.

Christine has become an avid runner since her first half marathon in 2010. She believes that proper running form can be found through Pilates and can help minimize the risk of injury. As someone who used to run with knee pain, she appreciates how important it is to run with a conscious stride and strong core. She will work with runners to find the best exercises for their bodies to ensure optimal results.
